Major slowdown for Windows XP

Tony

Hi people, I have checked other posts but don't see any help for this
problem.

I have a P4 2.6GHz with 512MB RAM and heaps of hard disk (50GB). Recently
(and prior to SP2 install) it started to slow right down. Now it's like a
slug in mud a lot of the time and I just can't figure out why. I am down to
wiping the disk and reinstalling XP and all my programs from scratch.

FYI, I run NAV2003 and Zone Alarm Pro. Both are up to date. Also loaded at
startup are Norton Ghost, Yahoo Pager and a couple of utilities called
RAM_XP and Poweroff, both of which I have tried disabling but no
improvement.

My process list is shown below. Nothing extraordinary there although I guess
some will criticise me for allowing Norton Systemworks. I have tried
removing this, but it does not seem to help. A lot of SVCHOST instances -
does anyone know how to interrogate these to find out what is using them???
