Main IE window wont close

When i try to close my IE browser it just gives me the
asterik sound and wont close, but any other IE windows
that pop up close normally. I have installed the latest
updates for IE 6.0, and they did not help. Any
suggestions are greatly appreciated.

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at

If not caused by malware, consider disabling (for diagnostic purposes)
legitimate programs running in the background which might be interacting
with IE- security, antivirus, ad-blockers, toolbars & other add-ons, etc.
You may have to uninstall then reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.
