Mailmerge using Word 2007 and Outlook 2007

Hello, I have used Mail Merge without difficulty in the part using Word 2000
and Outlook 2000.
I have carefully followed the directions for mailemerge to create mailing
labels in Office 2007. When I follow the mailmerge Wizard, and I get to the
step "Select Recipients", I select "Select from Outlook Contacts". I receive
the following message- "Either there is no defaut mail client or the current
mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please open Microsoft
Outlook and set it as the default mail client". When I hit "OK", I get the
following message-"Unable to obtain list of tables from the data source". I
indeed have Microsoft Office set as my default mail client. I use AOL for
email, and when I email a word document, it sends the email to AOL. I have
also tried to start Mail Merge from Outlook 2007. I get the Mail Merge Helper
that appeared in Mailmerge 2000. I set up labels. Step 2 shows a temporary
data source-C;|DOCUME (APPROXIMATELY SYMBOL)\...\OMMD.doc. When I go to "pen
Data Source" I am let to Microsof Data Sources, none of which work. If I open
"Edit Data source", I am taken through a series of very tedious steps,
requiring customizing the Outlook View of My contacts to demonstrate the
appropriate fields. I also have to Insert Merge Fileds in the Word Label
template. Even so, the final result has sloppy spacing.
I don't know if this is a glitch in the 2007 program or relates to my use of
AOL, but it is obviously a departure from the smooth utility of Office 2000.
I have no other address books.
Is there a functional algorithm for Mail Merge 2007?

Are you using AOL's email client or Outlook to read your email from AOL?

You need outlook set as the default mail client and need an account
configured in it.
