mail won't open in a window

I have vista basic, using ms mail. how do I get ms mail to open in the window
and not on the task bar. Everything was working great yesterday.

Have you right clicked on the icon you use to open Windows Mail, and on the
Shortcut tab, made sure that the Run drop down box is set to "Normal window" or
"Maximized" and NOT "Minimized"?

To add: After right clicking the Windows Mail icon, select Properties >
Shortcut tab, etc.
