Mail recipient in the "To" line

Previously in Outlook Express, I could enter the first few letters of a
person's name or email and the complete name/email would auto complete. I
can't seem to do this in Windows Mail unless I'm sending consecutive emails
to the same person. What am I doing wrong?

I was able to creat 2 accounts 1 for my husband and 1 for myself in Windows
mail. Out internet service provider in Videotron. We both have different
user name and password but even so received / sent messages appear in one
inbox. Windows XP in control panel had Mail options so when you open outlook
express it will prompt a window asking which email account you want to open.
I checked in control panel for Vista this option doesn't exist. Please
provide your support.

thanks

Windows Mail auto-completes from a separate list of 29 addresses you type
in, not from your contacts. This list is stored in the registry.

If you wish to remove old or incorrect addresses, there is a utility to
clear recently used email addresses in Windows Mail...

To retrieve addresses from your contacts folder, click on the To: button.

This is one of the features that works properly in the newer Windows Live
Mail.

Windows Mail does not have identities like Outlook Express did.
By default, all email from all accounts goes into the same Inbox.
There are four different ways of changing that:

1. Use separate Windows user logins. That gives total privacy, and is
ideal when two different people use the same computer.

2. Use message rules to filter incoming messages into
separate mail folders.

3. Upgrade to Windows Live Mail which has separate folders for each
account, no rules needed: http://download.live.com/wlmail

4. Purchase an add-on called WMIDs:
