Mail problems

T

Tim Brown

Some of our users are complaining that when they choose
certain users from the address list that all they can see
is the following: IDS/OU/SUSSEX (FQDN)before the name.
Also, in Users and Computers the Email Addresses tab is no
longer visible on certain user accounts. Any ideas?

Hi Tim,

Thank you for the posting again.

I noticed you have posted the same problem in
microsoft.public.win2000.general named Exchange problems. Please refer to
that thread for more information.

Based on your description, it seems that these users were not mail-enabled.

To verify this, you can use the following methods:

Method one:

Right-clicks the account which does not have the Email address, and then
click Exchange Tasks, you should see one task named "create mailbox". If
the account is email enabled, there won't be a task named "create mailbox".
Only those account that is not mail-enabled has this task.

Method two:

Right click the account which does not have the Email address, click
Properties. There is not a tab named "Email address". If the account is
mail-enabled, you will see a tab named "Email address".

If those accounts is not mail enabled, you need to create mailboxes for
these accounts manually.

Hope the above information and suggestion helps and answers your question.
If anything is unclear, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Cherry Qian
