Mail Merge from Advanced Search?

A

Anthony Bouch

If I perform an Advanced Search on a Contacts folders - I can get an
excellent set of search results (better than a custom view).

Once I have the results in the search results windows I can't seem to do
much with them. I would like to perform a mail merge for these contacts. Can
anyone suggest how? Do I need a Macro? - Or do I somehow need to add the
Mail Merge menu option to Advanced Search?

I can't even save them to a Search Folder becuase it appears that only email
can go in a Search Folder and I don't want to Move them from their original
folder.

Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Tony

Views uses the exact same filter dialog as advanced find, so I'm not sure
why you say AF is better... plus if you have a newer version of outlook, you
can use SQL to write the search. (Since you have Search folders, you have
OL2003 and the SQL tab.)

Alternatively, use Edit, Copy to folder (always better than moving) and
delete the folder after you are done or Edit, Categories and add a new
category to the contacts, then group by category view in the contact's
folder and select those in the new category.

Thanks Diane

I hadn't used Custom Views yet - exactly what I was looking for.
