I want to backup my Windows Mail and install (restore) it to Outlook
Express. How can I do this please. It does not look easy.
Thank you so very much.

See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background.

Go to Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store folder in Vista and
that will tell you where the messages are located. Copy the entire Windows
Mail directory to a CD and verify the copy to ensure the files are on the CD
(or use a jump drive). Then copy the files to the machine with OE on it.
Then open the Local folders directory under the Windows Mail directory and
in each folder will be the messages for that folder. Create a new folder in
OE and open it so it shows an empty message list. Then drag the eml files
overtop that empty OE folder message list and drop them and they will then
be incorporated into the folder. You will need to do this for each folder.

My OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) makes it somewhat more easily done as
you can just point to the directory of eml files for a folder and click a
button to import them.
