Magenta vanished on Canon S820, Have tried everything!

Dear All,
my Canon S820 is just over year old. Printer was working like a treat up
intil now. After not using the printer for couple of weeks Magenta
colour has stopped printing altogether, as if there is no ink tank (in
reality, Ink tank is half full). Have done Nozzle Check, Magenta doesnt
appear on print-outs at all. Tried to do Nozzle Cleaning several times
to no avail. Have tried "soaking" method and even washing through the
Magenta nozzle with warm water. Interestingly enough, water does go
through the nozzle (water gets pink, thus washing out all the ink inside
the nozzle) so maybe clogging / dried ink not to blame. Please help,
dont know what to do, have run out of ideas

As last resort, where can I get the whole Printhead relatively cheaply?
Im in the UK.

If only one color is not flowing, it sounds more like a defective ink tank
which is not so uncommon. Its happened to me several times with each of my
three Canons. Canon has even replaced the defective ink tanks during the
warrenty period. The sponge inside may be clogged or there may be
insufficient air entering through the vent slot etc.
Worth a try before going the relatively high expense of replacing the print
head.
