Macros in Word 2003

Guest

Two problems: (1) I accidentally deleted my macros in Word 2003 when I tried
to rename some. Can I get them back without recreating?
(2) I did recreate some of the deleted macros and assigned shortcut keys on
the keyboard. When I close out of Word and then restart it, the shortcut
keys don't work. Occasionally, I cannot run the macro from the Tools menu
either. Help?

Adobe Acrobat 7 installed?

You probably cannot retrieve your deleted macros. It depends on where they
were stored and how you deleted them, though.
You may want to look at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/ModifyRecordedMacro.htm, too.

I keep my macros and toolbar customizations in a separate template. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc.

If they were stored in Normal.dot, they're probably still there because
Acrobat 7 prevented Normal.dot from being saved.
