macromedia flashplayer

I can't install macromedia flashplayer, i am running xp home/sp2,norton
internet security,internet explorer 6.02/sp2,mcafee antispyware,microsoft
antispyware,spybot search and destroy,ad-aware se,spywareblaster, all updates
and patches are current and all settings are at default. Can anyone help me
please ?? All i see is a red x blocking the content and no dropdown to
install active x even comes up to begin the download.

Put the download site into your trusted zone of your NIS application. I
don't know how it works but that's probably what's preventing you from
installing it. In other words I have no idea how your Norton product works
but that's what would be preventing it unless you also have it blocked with
SpywareBlaster. Too many security applications can lead to more headaches
than you'd have with a bit of prevention but that's just my opinion. Either
way it's probably something you've got running that's preventing the
installation. My first guess would be Norton.

Open SpywareBlaster, and click the Tools section
Under "Flash Killer", uncheck the following option:

"Disable and block Macromedia flash in Internet Explorer"

This removes the Kill-bit for Flash, and should resolve the Red X issue.
