Macromedia Dreamweaver is bombing my system.

Dreamweaver is crashing the whole systems sometimes when it is run. I tried
to run it as administrator, but it bombs and takes the system with it.

Could this me a permissions error. I don't know where to start on this one
without just doing a total reinstall. But i would hate to do all of that and
have the same thing occur, because of a lack of troubleshooting.

Anyone else having Dreamweaver problem specifically?

I'll suppose you're talking about Dreamweaver 8.
I'm using Vista Beta2 5384 and Dreamweaver is running fine. Have you updated
DW to version 8.02? If you have done so make sure you installed the program
with the user you are trying to run it. If not, do it, mine's running 8.02

Now if you use an older version of DW try setting it's compatibility to
Windows XP (SP2)

Hope it helps!

I am currently running 8.2 also, but I did install it in administrator. So
I have to install for my profile. Do I have to uninstall it first?

Thanks,

Yes, you should uninstall first (using administrator).
After that make sure your profile has administrative priviledges and
re-install it. After original installation, update immediately to 8.02 and
then try running it.
If this does not work for you, try setting WinXP combatibility.

Thank you very much!

I did the unintall and reinstall and it seems at the present to have worked.
Some of the problem seems to come from the indexer which affects all
explorer windows and dialogs causing the system to crash and restart. Since
Dreamweaver opens with the file system displayed, I believe that the
indexer/windows problem is at the root of it.

Thanks again,

Nice! :D
It could also be a problem with the DW installer, remember that profile
folders like the Application Data folders have now changed. Maybe your
profile user didn't have the permissions to open the administrator's AppData
folder and there's no error handling in DW about that, so kaboom! :D

Dreamweaver is working fine now, as it vista. The indexer seemed to be the
major problem but I do think that the reinstall in my profifle helped also.

Thank you for the suggestion,
