macro buttons on toolbars

Hi.

I assigned 3 macros to 3 different buttons on my main menu toolbar.

When I emailed the spreadsheet to a colleague, the buttons did not sho
up on his toolbar. (The macros worked fine however, if he did the Al
F8).

Is there any way to incorporate macro buttons into the "body" of a
EXCEL file so that a recipient does not have to do an Alt F8?

Our business users would not rather not have to do an Alt F8, and the
don't want to be setting up their own buttons for macros-even if the
could).

Thanks much.

Hi

Instead of putting the macro buttons in the main menu
toolbar, create a button on the spreadsheet page itself.

The create button icon is on the "forms" toolbar, you
place the button where you like on the s.sheet and write
a description on the button and assign the macro to it.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Lindasf,

View, Toolbars, Customise, New to create a new toolbar.

Set up your toolbar with macros triggered by the buttons. It sounds like you
know how. I would advise using standard toolbar buttons or faceIDs. There's
a tool on my site to identify these if you are interested.

Same dialog as above, click Attach, and attach the toolbar to the book with
the macros you are sending out.

It is not 100% reliable but should do for just 3 macros. Most quality addins
build their bars on the fly. See www.j-walk.com for some code to do this if
you are interested.

Patrick,

Thanks! This works great.

Now to be a total pain in the neck (or worse!) I was wondering if it i
possible to:

* fill in the button with color (I was able to change the font color
but not the background color)

* add a graphic to the button (like a smiley face)

Thanks!
