Machine Check Exception 9c

Followed the advice given and spent £100 on an OCZ Modstream PSU. Guess
what - I got the crash after playing Doom 3 for about 25 minutes. Whilst
playin I recorded the voltages using Asus probe and this showed all the
voltages to be very stable. The CPU fan though did seem to be spinn very
fast 4130 rpm at the point of the crash. This is an AMD retail packaged fan
and I assume there is some sensor that controls fan speed relative to the
CPU temperature (which was 41oC ). Does this fan speed seem sensible or
mcould that be the cause?

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks.

Have ordered an OCS Modstream 520W PSU. This delivers 28A on the 12V rail
compared to 16A on my Hiper 425W PSU. The Antec option I had only gave 18A
on the 12V and some sources suggested this was sailing abit too close to the
wind.

Will update with further details once it is fitted and tested.

Cheers,

Andy

Drat. Sorry to hear you've still got the problem.

Are you able to play longer before borking now or
is it about the same?

How about vidcard temps? Are you monitoring them
as well?
