Machine attempting to join a remote domain

B

Brad King

I am attempting to join a remote machine to a local
domain. Server is a win2k. Remote machine is winxp. Both
are on different subnets in a VPN. The normal join
process gives me a DNS SRV error. Locally I point to the
default gateway and everything is okay internet wise.
However, a machine requesting a join appears to have DNS
problems. Any Ideas??

Brad,

Just thinking outloud: could this be a firewall issue?
Are the appropriate ports open and available?

What errors do you receive when you attempt to join the domain? Take a
look at the winnt\debug\netsetup.log file for errors and post them.
