Lst the menu bar when viewing emails in Outlook 2007

For years when I open an email I see at the top of the screen a menu bar that
lets me reply, reply to all, etc. Suddenly, that menu bar has gone missing.
I can still reply to emails by closing the email and as long as it remains
highlighted in the email tree, click on the reply options in the regular
Outlook bar at the top of the screen. I can't fidn an option to re-enable
the menu bar to appear on each opened email.

Double-click on the Message to redisplay the full Ribbon (which replaces the
menu on individual items in Outlook 2007).
