LPT1

I recently upgraded from ME to XP. I have a security block
on LPT1 that's required by my trading software. It's no
longer recognized. I also have a Canon LPB-8III printer
hanging off the security block. Neither of these two
products works properly. The printer off-line will print
test pages just fine. The LPT1 driver and printer drivers
are the latest versions. I've removed the security block,
and that didn't fix the printer. I moved the printer to my
wife's PC running XP, same problem. I've looked at
changing configurations for the driver, but I don't dare.

Any ideas?
