Low memory

Hi,
All of a sudden my computer has started flagging up 'low memory' errors and
I am needing to reboot to recover. I don't have much open and it can happen
at any time. I have XP Home, 512 MB Ram and plenty of HDD. The computer has
been running fine until this. It also seems to be running very slow over the
last couple of days.

What could this be and how can I fix it please?

Thanks in advance,
Lenny

Rt click on my computer click on properties goto advanced under performance
click on settings then click on advanced and under virtual memory change it
to 2 times the ram size and that should get rid of temp files and ie temp
files and defrag and scandisk

What is the malware status of the machine? Make sure it is 100%
virus/malware-free:
