Low maintenance printer.

I had two Bubblejet Lexmark printers so far and I was reasonably happy with
their performance and maintenance.
Lately, I took advantage of a Radio Shack promotion and bought an Epson
inkjet C82. It was fast, thought sometime it printed garbage at the top two
lines of the page. The, it ran out of ink. I filled it with generic ink but
I was told that this printer is sensitive aand needs new cartridges. Bought
generic ones for C80/C82 and now after spending over $110, I was told that
the original re-fill ink had plugged the jets and waived the warranty. Now,
I need to replace the printhead.

I'm not going to bother:(Accepting the fact that I'm one of those suckers
born every minute.).
But I'm open to any advise this group may offer on which printer is
generally speaking the best buy considering ease of maintenance, not so
delicate/touchy on inks.

Thanks in advance
Rufus

The C82 is a pigmented ink printer. Despite that with your situation try
using Windolene (USA Windex) probably in a near empty cartridge which will
then clean from within. That could and should disolve any remaining crud or
dried ink. You may have to reset the cartridge if it showed empty.

Every HP inkjet cartridge comes with a NEW printhead built in.

But darned expensive, put if they're used to Lexmark, it won't be so
bad. The best deal, IMO, would be Canon though.

For those don't interesting about using
refilled/remanufactured/manufactured/aftermarket inks, HP business 2600
series is one choice.

Not true in all instances. I have a HP business inkjet 2200. These have
separate, replacement printheads.
