Assuming you still have XP on your drive you can
try a program called aida32

You can't. If you registered your version, try calling MS product support at
1-800-936-5700. If your version came preinstalled, you need to contact the
system manufacturer.

and I write it on a notebook, too.

aida32 is can still be downloaded, but for how much longer is unknown.

updates. Bel Arc Advisor is a very nice program.

Hindsight is 20/20. Next time do not reformat your drive until you have a
Product Key in hand. If you can boot into XP at all you can extract the key
from it using a little app like this
