crashed and I bought a new copy of XP home edition and when I tried to
install it gives the option repair, I chose this option and was prompted TO
ENTER PASSWORD FOR BIOS SETTINGS and repair but I forgot my password .How can

I'm not 100% positive, but I don't think you can recover a BIOS password,
however, you can reset it by clearing the CMOS. This can be accomplished by
either removing the CMOS battery on the mobo for approx 5 mins. and replacing it
or setting a jumper on the mobo. Some mobos may have additional instructions
after changing the jumper to clear the CMOS. Check any documentation that came
with the mobo or check the manufactureser support site for instructions on
clearing the CMOS.

Consult either the motherboard's/computer's manual or the
motherboard's/computer's manufacturer's web site for instructions on
resetting or bypassing the BIOS password.

Brian, I want to thank you for the time and info you provided, as it turns
out I was so stupid , I went to the F2 prompt and tried 1 last time to
remember my password ,it only allows 3 tries so on the final try I simply
clicked on the empty lead and lo and behold I was in. I had never set the
password(that is my assumption at this point) Once again I want to thank you
and the other person who responded . I have learned how to recover a
password with CMOS and have printed out your help and filed it for fututre use
