Lost Password for login at Windows XP Pro

A friend changed their Windows login password and has now
forgotten what it was and is unable to get onto his
computer, is there anyway that we can bypass this or find
out what the password is without having to reload Windows

I beg your pardon?

I sent a link to a knowledgebase article titled;

"How to log on to Windows XP if you forget your password or your password
expires"

It begins;

"This article was previously published under Q321305
INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to log on to Windows XP if you forget your
password or your password expires and you cannot create a new one."

It directly addresses the Original Posters question about a forgotten
password. Would you care to explain to me exactly what the problem is??
