lost partitions through partition magic

Ben Mannerings

i have two seagate 60 Gb hard drives in a stripped raid array, (the
operating system is installed on a seperate hard drive). the array was
partitioned into three hard disks 20, 20 and 80. i tried using partition
magic 8 to merge one of the 20gb partitions with the 80gb partition, (i made
sure that i selected them the right way round) to create one 100gb partition
retaining all the information on the 80gb partition (i didn't have enough
room to back all this up). however when partition magic finished the 20gb
partition which shoudl have been merged was still separate, and the 80gb
partition was gone!!partition magic says the 80gb partition is unallocated
free space, is there anything i can do to restore the missing data, on the
80gb partion. i'm using windows xp pro.

Thanks in advance

That can be simple or complicated. One of your better chances would be
to download Findpart at

http://www.partitionsupport.com/utilities.htm

do:

findpart all fp.txt

and mail me the file fp.txt.

Do not access any partition on the array. At least not the 20 GB
partition involved.
