Lost "News" item in Customize Menu

Harold Schultz

I am running Outlook 2003. I imported all my files, phonebook and folders, from Outlook Express, without a problem. I attempted to set up Outlook 2003 as my news group client. I did so by following the instructions in help. I right clicked in the menu section of the screen and opened 'customize' by left clicking. I opened the GO menu and dragged "News" onto it. I mistakenly dropped "News" on the file menu. I order to correct that I must have deleted the "News" item on the file menu. I went through the procedure again, only to discover that I lost the "News" item from the customize list under GO. How do I repair this error? I tried reinstalling Outlook 2003 believing that would give me back the "News" item under GO in the customize box, but it did not. Please help.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.
