lost networkconnection with Roadrunner modem

The roadrunner guy came out and installed a new modem but then could
not get my computer connected again. He calls headquarters and yes,
they see the modem, looks ok. Sorry he says, looke like your Local
area connection can send but not receive. Yes. the status box shows
24 packets sent, zero received. I hook up my daugeter's laptop - it
works fine -in fact that is how I am getting on right now. but mine
does not connect. I think that guy did something wrong and was too
dull to un-do it! Does anyone have any ideas? I have Win2000 with
two ethernet connections, the K7VTA3 MB and a PCI card, both show
Device working properly.

We would need more details on "how" your Win2000 PC is connected to
the Roadrunner cable modem: directly or by a router?

Why do you need two Ethernet connections?
