LOST MY "VOLUME CTL ICON"

My volume control icon use to be on the "TASKBAR" area whwere the clock is
(bottom right hand corner) but is now "gone" Anyway to put it back ?

Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Servioce pack 2

Right click an empty spot on the taskbar, click 'properties' place a mark
next to 'hide inactive icons' then click 'customize' and see if your icon is
there, if it is, select 'always show' and okay your way out of those
screens.
If that doesn't work, post back.

I too am having this problem. But the volume icon was not listed. Instead
there was a folder icon next to the volume. How can I get my volume icon
back?

Please help. Thanks

I had to reinstall my realtek and soundmax drivers, then it was there

Just go to contrl pan select the audio icon. It will have a check in the,
"Show volume", but uncheck and apply, then put the check back in the box and
apply.
