Lost Logon Password

Parker

Hello All,

A friend of mine's father just retired and his company gave him the laptop
he was using to keep after they deleted all of the company files. However
they had not given him the password to logon to the system. So he cannot
get past the ctrl+alt+del screen because he does not know the password. Is
there any way to change the password for the administrator account without
reloading the OS? This laptop is using XP Pro.

Thanks in Advance

Has he asked the IT department of the company?
How was he able to use the laptop without the password?

Hi Parker,

Thanks for your posting here.

It will be better to contact the IT department of the company to get the
local administrator's password or you may have to rebuild the operation
system.

Or you can refer to the following document.

321305 How to log on to Windows XP if you forget your password or your
password

With it helps.
