Lost LAN connection

I have a small peer-to-peer lan for our home and small
business computers. Today, my HP Pavilion (Windows XP)
cannot connect with other PCs or networked printers. I
do not get the little double-monitor image in the task
bar that would indicate my LAN is active. There is a
light on the hub form my PC. In Even viewer, I foundThis
error message Source: ipnathlp Event ID: 30013 The DHCP
Allocator disabled itslev on IP address 192.168.10.n
since the IP address is outside the
192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 scope from which addresses are
being allocated to DHCP clients. To enable the DHCP
allocator on this IP address, pelase change the scope to
include the IP address, or change the IP address to fall
within the scope.
I tried th Help and Support Center to no avail. It says
no LAN was detected and no data was sent. I do not use
DHCP, so have no idea why suddenly my PC won't connect.
The only thing that has changed is that I did load some
of the automatic Microsoft updates.

Can you describe the TCP settings in your network connections settings.
