Lost files

Adam

I have a software package called OpenMG by Sony
(basically stores ATRACS to enable downloading onto MD).
However I have lost all the files. I can still access
them, but despite my searches they don't seem to be
anywhere within Windows XP. Please help, the normal
search method returns nothing, but they must be there
because they still play.

Right Click on My Computer > Explore > select the drive where you think your
files should be stored then using the
menus > Tools > Folder Options > View > tick Show Hidden Files and Folders
Apply > OK and then trawl through each and every folder, directory you
have. If there there you'll find them. Check all your drives, partitions
etc.

Cheers,
Jerry

Several possibilites here. Since you have already done
searches for the file, try uninstalling the software, then
reinstalling it, paying attention to the location. When
software is installed location preferences are alway asked
for. Just specify a location that you know. Also, could
the files have been zip files, cuz those won't ;normally
turn up in a search?
