lost emails

About once a week I find that an email sent successfully (according to
Outlook) has not been received. If I resend it it is received correctly as
usual. The problem is random. There is no correlation with the receiving
server (private individuals, government departments and companies)
Should I suspect outlook, my mail server provider or what?
the emails appear in the sent folder OK and I do not get a failed response
email from the receiving server.

Any help would be appreciated since I am not sure when an important email
will just fail to be received.
Thanks

Hi

I have exactly the same problem, but it's also happening with emails I'm not
receiving, as well as emails I'm sending that don't reach the recipient. I
recently upgraded to Outlook 2007, and I'm wondering if that's something to
do with it....

I'm using Outlook 2003 and Dataflame in the UK for hosting. I'm suspecting
the ISP??

Hmm - I'm using Webhosting in the UK, and have queried it with them too.
They have run diagnostics and assure me that it's not them or their servers.
Not sure where to go from here really! It's a nightmare... I'm losing hugely
important email correspondence...

You should suspect your mail provider. If the message moves to Sent Items,
that means Outlook successfully passed the message to the outgoing server
and it is that system (or one farther downstream) that is failing to pass it
on.
