Lost drag and drop on Start Menu

J

John

I no longer have drag and drop on the Start Menu items. What is the
problem, how can I restore this function.

I added the registry fix at http://www.aumha.org/regfiles.php but it
made no difference.

I have also lost drag and drop in the Linkman program. Apparently, a
few--very few--Linkman users have this problem. My guess is that the
loss of DnD on the Start Menu is related to the loss of DnD on the
Start Menu.

In Linkman, DnD comes back if I switch my mouse back to right-handed.
This has no effect on the Start Menu loss.

John,

You need to enable the "Enable Dragging and Dropping" Option in your start
menu properties. Follow these steps:

Classic Start Menu:
Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Enable the option "Enable Dragging and Dropping."

For New Start Menu:
Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab, choose Customize
Click "Advanced" tab and enable the option "Enable Dragging and Dropping."

If that does not help, execute these two commands from Start/Run.

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
regsvr32 ole32.dll

Thank you for responding. This fixed the problem.
Not the loss of drag and drop in Linkman, though. John Wirt
