Lost briefcase option on File>New

I'm baffled because "Briefcase" no longer appears when I click on File

New

I get a drop-down box of 10 options in addition to Folder and
Shortcut. Most of the option I would never use and I notice that some
of my applications fave installed a new option which has presunably
dispaced briefcase. What can I do?

I'm running XP Home SP2 (build 2600) 1.67 Athlon processor, 96 Gig
hard drive.

Download and Install TweakUI for Windows XP SP1 or higher.

If you need TweakUI for Windows XP with no Service Packs installed then you
can get it from here:

Run TweakUI and select "Templates" and place a checkmark for "Briefcase".
Then click Apply, and then click OK.

Thanks. I followed that route but Briefcase wasn't an option
available. I saw 'create' was an option but I couldn't see what
program to use. Any suggestions?

See if the file I created for you will help you restore the Briefcase in the
Context Menu.

Download the following file to your Desktop. Right-click
"restore_briefcase.reg" and select Merge. This will merge the registration
entries into your registry.

Note: You may view the contents of the file by right-clicking the file and
select Edit.

You may need to restart your computer for the changes to apply.

You should also back-up your registry before applying the registration file.
Use ERUNT to backup your registry.
