lost access to computer

My Father has windows XP home, and he originally only used it himself, he had
a stroke and I added myself on to his computer then decided to delete my user
account, don't ask me why. Now he does not know his password and we can't get
his computer to make it to the desktop. Is there anything we can do to get
his computer back to where it was before?

it would be best that you notify the company you bought the computer from and
they would have the answer

When booting the computer, Press the F8 key after you see the BIOS info,
But before windows starts to load.
You'll see list of boot options, select Safe Mode.
The logon screen, when it appears, will give you the option to logon to
the Administrator account, select it and wait for the desktop to load.
Goto Start | Control Panel | User Accounts
In it, select Change an account | Select his account | Select the create a
password option
and enter a new password.
