LOSSES IN CUTTING/PASTING DV?

I understand that when I transfer DV directly from my videocam, I have an
exact copy on my computer of what I had on tape.

If I use WMM to cut & paste, (resequence) portions of my original DV, and
then save the finished movie back to computer in DV-AVI format, are there any
losses involved?

In other words, does WMM simply copy the portions from the original DV file
to the 'final' file, or does it convert the DV into some other format
internally and then recode it back to DV for the save step???

You should not experience any quality loss especially if you captured to
DV-AVI to begin with.
