Looking for Renamer That Renames Selected Files in Reverse Numerical Sequence

B

Ben Alias

I'm running WinME and am looking for a file renamer that is fairly
simple to use and that, among other things, will rename selected files
in reverse numerical sequence. For example, a list of files
bother01.txt, bother02.txt, ... bother10.txt can be automatically
renamed as tether10.txt, tether09.txt, ... tether01.txt. I.e.,
bother01.txt automatically becomes tether10.txt, bother02.txt
automatically becomes tether09.txt, etc.

I have been using Revix and like it a lot. It supposedly has this
feature, by which it will "invert" the order of a group of files and
then rename them sequentially. The problem is that this feature does
not work, at least not for me. When I try it, it just "de-selects"
the list of selected files.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

C'ya,

Take a look at RenameMaster from <http://www.joejoesoft.com/>

For your example, set the "starting number" to 10 and the "increment
by" to -1 and it will do what you want.

Lupas Rename 2000
<http://www.azheavymetal.com/~lupasrename/download.php> works like
Rename Master.

Heya Ben,

I use A.F.5 Rename Your Files, it's stupidly easy (cause anything else
confuses me :)
