I wonder if that new Amazon search whereby you can search the contents
of books would turn up the info you need. As I recall it was only a few
small chapters in the book I had forty years ago.

The book that I have on my desk right now (i'm sure i may have others
stashed somwhere but would like an online tutorial) is "Basic Principles
of Data Processing" by Saxon and Steyer (copyright 1970)
