I've been getting long bootup times about 90 second + same when
closing down. I've been in the services manager tried changing a few
settings with not much luck. I've uninstalled all programs one at a
time rebooting in between each uninstall. got to my Epson 915 pinter
uninstalled then bootup was great I thought I'd solved it. however
it was short lived I've uninstalled right back to back to the bare
Win XP pro clearing any redundundant entries from registry. System
Restore does'nt cure it.

The computer works fine but a pain in the ass waiting for it to crank
up. I've seen a number of messages in forums with similar problem but
all these guys had 120 gb hard drives same as me. Is this a common
problem with this size of drive ?

Ive got 2 physical hd's 120gb Main hd with OS, 30 gb 1 gb ddr ram XP
Pro.

THe long shutdown time I'm not too fussed about cos I can just leave
it and walk away, I've tried thr registry hack for quick shutdown,
did'nt work.

Thanks
