Logs Analysis

Hi,
I have newly joined a process team and was asked to work on logs of
various server including Linux,Solaris,Unix and Windows server.I heard
through one of my coleague that syslog server helps in logs analysis.

Can anyone help me and let me know what all can be configured in syslog
server to monitor logs.

syslog is not built into Windows, but is available
Perhaps you were meaning to make this posting to
a Unix oriented newsgroup ??
To work with the grain on Windows one might use
such as LogParser (www.logparser.com)
