Logon screen

New PC with XP pro + SP2. 4 user accounts. Using Outlook (not express) for
mail. Only 2 of the users have pop3 accounts and the log on screen shows that
these two accounts have unread mail messages. (Text line under account icon)
even though there are no unread messages in either account. How can I clear
these info lines and prevent them from returning. (I have even tried
removing the pop3 accounts from the user profiles and this does not get rid
of the them)

Sign in as an Administrator, and open Control Panel User Accounts applet,
highlight an account, click "Change my .NET Passport" on 'related tasks',
see 'manage my network password'

edit the list in that dialog.
