Logon Banner

I am trying to implement a logon banner on an AD domain with Windows 2000
Servers and XP clients. It is working fine except apparently there is a limit
of 512 characters on the message text. Although the message text is over 512
characters, it displays in its entirety except for one problem: the spaces
after the commas are truncated. I found a fix for this (Q258267) by using
quotations at the beginning and end of the message text, but after applying
this "fix", the 512 character limit is imposed, and the message text is cut
short. Is there a way to increase this limit, or any other way to make the
logon banner display properly and in its entirety?

Thanks!

I don't think so, and I wouldn't want to anyway - I don't see any
advantage.. Keep it short & sweet - you can use something like "Clicking OK
below indicates that you agree to abide by the written acceptable computer
use policy".

And make sure your company *has* a written "acceptable computer use policy,"
that all users are issued upon hire. You can update it & redistribute it to
all users whenever you change it, and you don't have to change anything in
your banner.
