When I install new hardware xp takes about ten minutes
and then displays this message " the software you are
installing for this device xxxxxxx has not passed windows
logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows
xp ". It doesn't matter what I install, hard drive, game
pad, printer, dvd rom, I get the same problem. The
drivers that are installing are microsofts own drivers,
like when I hook up a hard drive it installs a generic
disk driver from microsoft but it still comes up with the
same message after about ten minutes. When I click on
continue anyway it's installed fine and I have no
problems using the hardware device. All of this started
after I did a repair install. Any idea what would cause
xp not to recognize microsofts own drivers?
