I would like to have to type a password when I resume my computer from
standby, but not when I turn it on. I just have an Owner account there, and
want the computer to turn on without having to enter usernames or select
them. If I leave my computer, when I get back and resume from standby, show a
password screen. i do not have a password set for owner, as I think it would
make me type it in when I turn the computer on (at the welcome screen). How
do I do this??

Thanks

download and install tweakUI from the powertoys for XP page on MS.com to
boot in without entering password.

check out the power control panel to make a password prompt come up when
resuming from standby and check out the display control panel screensaver
tab for the screen saver password.
