login script

Hi all,
I want to write a login script that will run when the user logs into the
server. I'd like for the script to check the version of acrobat reader
(for example), if it is version 6.0 update to the 7.0 version.
We are running a windows 2003 server with windows xp pro clients.
Ultimately I'd like to have applications automatically updated when the
user logs in. I know that novell has this, but am not sure how to do
this with windows.
