Log the start of services

Hi,

I have a problem with an XPe system. Everytime i start the system it hungs
for 1 or 2 seconds. I think it is a problem with one of the services.
Does anyone know a program that logs the start of all services so that i can
see which service is the problem. In Event Log i can't see any messages from
services.

Maybe nobody has answered this because it isn't clear what you mean when you
say your system hangs for 1 or 2 seconds at startup.

Hello,
with hang for 1 or 2 seconds i mean that i can do nothing for 1 or 2
seconds. In this time a lot of services start, but i can't see which service
cause the problem while it starts. If i can log the start of the services, i
will be able to see which service cause the problem.
In other XPe systems the Application Log shows the startup times of
services, does anyone know which component i must add for this, or how i can
activate this?

Hmmm... I'm not much of a Windows expert - I'm an embedded programmer
dragged kicking and screaming towards XPe at the boss's request. But it
seems to me that 1 or 2 seconds of the computer being busy while services
start up sounds normal. Also, in my experience the event logs are mostly
used for exceptional conditions, i.e. a service failing to start or
encountering an error. My event logs are not cluttered with success
messages for every service that successfuly starts although a few services
do seem to post a message that they started.
