LOG IN Not Working

R

Running XP SP3 on a Toshiba NB100 Netbook. After allowing the battery to run
flat when I open PC I have following problems.
1. When I get to the "log on" screen it won't accept my clicking to open. I
need to Ctrl/Alt/Del twice to get it to open.
2. Once open I can no longer double click on icons to start applications.
Only way that works is after the first click a box of option pops up and the
top line is OPEN - which I click on and application opens.
Left and right mouse klicks all working OK otherwise
Any ideas ??????

Try the solutions provided on this page one by one until you get it
fixed, starting with restoring a restore point that predates the
problem in System Restore.
