Log In Limit Reached

Someone is logging on to our Win2000 server remotely using the administrator
account. They are not logging off correctly and so remain logged in. When I
try to log onto the server remotely, I get the messge: (I'm paraphrasing
here) "Log on limit reached, you cannot log onto this server. Try again
later." I need to restart the server to force logg off the logged in users.
Is there any way I can do this besides hitting the power button?

Set a time limit on disconnected remote sessions. Control Panel|Admin
Tools|TS Config|Connections|RDP|Actions|Properties|Sessions

Yes that is very helpful and thank you. Will do. Now is there any way to
force the log offs without just hitting the power button? I worry about
that....can it severly damage the server and our system?

Not without logging on.

The fact that you mention "someone" makes me wonder if you perhaps need to
a) change your admin password b) don't give it to those who can't be trusted
to work on your server properly.

You can log in locally, and then disconnect/log off the other users in
Terminal Services Manager, but if you're at the limit of logins, you can't
log in remotely while this is happening. See Dave's advice.
