Log In Accounts - how to delete when they're not there

I don't have a log in to my computer. However, the other day when I tried
to set up Task Scheduler it asked me for my username and password. As I
don't use either to log into the computer I could not provide this info.
And I couldn't progress with Task Manager.

Obviously there is something there that Windows is looking at. How can I
find it to either delete it or to change whatever password that it's
looking for?

Thanks

You might try accessing your account through computer management/local users
and reseting the password.

Chances are you do have a username/pass but you have forgotten it. If you
start task manager and click on the user tab you will see the user you are
logged in as. You don't say if you installed the system, or it came
preinstalled, but you could try a blank password.

Even user : Administrator, and leave password blank .

I am constantly amazed at the ignorance and stupidity of "users" who
practice NO computer security AT ALL - presumably you are one of those
idiots as well....

The account doesn't have a password. One was never entered.

No. A password was never entered. When I installed Windows (XP Pro) I
avoided entering a password as I don't need that level of security here.
I'm the only person here who uses this computer.

But when I run the scheduler and try to enter something it's asking for a
password. If I leave it blank it comes up with an error.

The option in computer management warned me of Armageddon if I reset the
user password and that data would be irretrievably lost if I did so and
that I should use some password security disk, or simply change it under
User Admin in Control Panel, which is the first place I looked when this
problem came up.

I even tried entering in a new password but it kept asking for the old one
first, as it does. But with no password entered it comes back with an
error.

An update.

I managed to get Task Manager to work. I was able to give my login account
a password. I then used that password in Scheduler to run the event.

Next question.

The task is to run Internet Explorer and to open a URL which points to my
VOIP ATA to reboot it. I do this every few days to refresh the unit as
sometimes voice quality can degrade over time. It's been suggested that a
reboot of the unit can fix this, hence the automated task.

It opens iE with a shortcut to the VOIP ATA. However, it opens IE in a
normal window. I'd like to have it open in a minimised window but I can't
figure out how to achieve this, if in fact, it can be done.

But the scheduler works fine. It opens IE, sends the URL command then
after a minute IE automatically closes.
