Locking unnecessary objects and guides

In short, if unnecessary objects and the guides can be locked, the editing
will be very easy.

It is disturbing when editing shapes or text objects. The other object gets
selected or the guide moves to some location. My work will be very fast and
must complete within the timeframe given. Whlie fast editing the objects
which are not needed to edit should be locked. Also the guidelines which we
keep while editing or formatting should also be locked. Then we can
concentrate on only editable things. The guides are also getting moved and
cannot use undo for repositioning the guide at previous location.

It would be nice to lock the guides! I often work to the visible grid which
obviously isnt as flexible but it is locked and semi adustable.
