Locking Slide Layouts

G

Guest

Hi! My Grade Threes are doing a project in the computer lab using Powerpoint XP. The teachers have already created the slides and layouts on each slide for the students to use and add information to. Is there a way for us to lock the layouts so that students can not erase or change the layout of each slide but still be able to add information and pictures. We are finding that the students are accident;ly or otherwise changing/erasing the layouts we want them to use and we are spending all our time going around and setting the slides back up to how we want them

Thank
Ian

[CRITICAL UPDATE - If you are using Office 2003, you should install this
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Ian,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking for.
Currently all security and protection features in PowerPoint are applied to
the entire file (not to particular items within a file such as Master
formatting).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide more granular control over who can do what with different parts of
a presentation (without having to resort to VBA or add-ins), don't forget
to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
