Locate Link Browser

E

Elliot

Everytime in Outlook 2003 when I click on a link I get a
file dialog box that opens. The title of the dialog bon
is Locate Link Browser. When I search the knowledgebase
for the problem, Article 821692, is returned. It's
title is The Locate Link Browser Dialog Box Appears When
You open a Web Link in an E-mail Message. This is my
problem, but it relates the problem to Netscape Navigator
6.2, which I do not have loaded on my computer, nor is it
set as the default browser. Can anyone offer me any
insight as to how to fix this annoyance.

Thank you.
Elliot

Have you already set it to IEXPLORE.EXE when the box appeared?

Elliot,

Open Internet Explorer (IE) and select Tools | Internet Options and
select the Programs tab. Put a check mark next to "Internet Explorer
should check if it is the default browser". Press OK to save your
changes.

Now click a URL link within an Outlook message and it should work as
expected.

I hope this solves your problem.

Jim
